Yes — we re-weld permanent jewelry that was welded at another salon. If your forever bracelet, anklet, or necklace popped open (or you had it cut for an MRI), you don’t need a brand-new piece. Bring it in and we re-weld the chain at the jump ring for $15 per piece. Text a photo to (727) 218-7045 first so we can confirm the chain and clasp will take a weld, and book ahead.
You got your forever bracelet somewhere on vacation, or at a pop-up, or a little shop that has since closed — and now the tiny weld has popped and it’s sitting in your jewelry dish. Here’s the good news: a broken weld is a five-minute fix, and you don’t have to track down the original artist to get it done.
Most studios only re-weld pieces they welded themselves. We’re happy to re-weld a chain from anywhere — it’s the same skill and the same little zap, whether we made the bracelet or someone across the country did. Here’s how it works.
Can you re-weld a permanent bracelet from another salon?
Yes. A “permanent” bracelet is simply a chain fused shut at a small jump ring instead of a clasp. When that weld pops open, the chain itself is almost always fine — it just needs re-closing. We re-weld permanent jewelry welded anywhere, $15 per piece, and it takes about five to ten minutes. Sterling silver or 14k gold-filled, ours or another salon’s — same fix, same price.
My bracelet was cut for an MRI or surgery — can you put it back on?
Usually, yes — it’s one of the most common reasons people come in. Metal has to come off for an MRI, so a lot of clients get their permanent piece snipped at the hospital and hold onto it. Bring the piece and any links that were cut off. If the chain is intact, we re-weld it right back on. If a link was removed and can’t be reused, we may need to add a small connector to close the gap — we’ll always tell you before we do anything.
A popped weld doesn’t mean a new bracelet. If the chain is sound, we re-close it — no matter who welded it first.
What does it cost, and does the metal matter?
A re-weld is $15 per piece — sterling silver or gold-filled, ours or another studio’s. If you have more than one piece to close, it’s $15 each. One thing worth knowing: if we welded your piece originally, re-welds are free within 14 days of your first weld. This $15 fee is for jewelry welded elsewhere, or for older welds past that window.
What if my chain is too damaged, or it’s plated?
We’ll be honest at the photo stage. A quality sterling silver or 14k gold-filled chain re-welds cleanly. Very thin, badly kinked, or gold-plated chains don’t always take a weld well — and we’d rather tell you that before you drive out than after. To be clear about what we are: The Bronze Lily is a permanent jewelry studio, so we re-weld permanent chain — but we don’t buy, sell, or repair fine jewelry, coins, or watches.
How do I book a re-weld?
Text a photo of the piece and the broken spot to (727) 218-7045 so we can confirm it’ll take a weld and quote anything unusual. Then book ahead at 2851 1st Avenue North so we have time set aside for you. We don’t take walk-ins, even for a quick re-weld, but with a heads-up we can almost always fit you in the same week.
You don’t need to know who made it or where it came from. If it’s a chain and it’s sound, we’ll re-weld it — $15, and you’re wearing it out the door.
